Creative Cloud[edit]

Adobe Creative Cloud is the successor to Creative Suite. It is based on a software as a service model. With the increasing improvement of intellectual property protection technologies, Adobe is integrating Adobe genuine software integrity service more aggressively in the latest releases of its products.

The service is meant for discouraging piracy and tracking genuine software better. But lately, more and more Adobe users report that Adobe genuine software error appears on their screen, even if they have purchased legitimate copies of Adobe products. Let’s figure it all out.

This is one of the simplest ways for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 on how to disable Adobe genuine software integrity service when launching a program without deleting it.

1. Open the Search console in Windows. Do it by clicking on the window icon at the bottom left, the Start button, or the magnifying glass icon there (depending on the OS version). Enter “services” in the search text box.
2. A window will be opened with a list of many available services. Pick the “Standard” tab at the bottom.
3. In the alphabetical list, find “Adobe genuine software integrity service”. Right-click on this service to open the context menu, pick the “Properties” option from the list.
4. In the new popup window for Startup Type field (under General), pick “Disable” from the dropdown menu and then click Apply and OK button.

After restarting the system and running the Adobe program, you will see if this method worked. If it doesn’t, try the next method.

Way №2 – Disable Adobe Genuine Software Integrity Service Via Task Manager

A more advanced method to disable and erase the service

The most efficient solution among users is to disable and erase all parts of the software responsible for the pop-up message. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Open Task Manager by typing “Task Manager” in the console’s Search text box, or simultaneously press Ctrl + Alt + Del > Task Manager.
2. Select the “Processes” tab and find the “Adobe genuine software integrity service” process in the list or as an executable. exe application (depending on the OS version), right-click on it and pick “Open File Location” from the context menu. The command opens a folder named AdobeGCIClient that contains this service.
3. Leave this folder open and go back to the Task Manager. Right-click on the “Adobe genuine software integrity service” process, and click “End Task” from the context menu.
4. Erase the AdobeGCIClient folder opened in step №2.

Restart the PC and check if the issue is fixed. If the problem didn’t go away and the folder was re-created after restarting, don’t remove Adobe genuine software integrity service and try renaming it to something similar instead. In case it doesn’t help, move on to the next method.

Way №3 – Remove Via Command Prompt

Not the simplest but reliable method

Try this by running the command line window (cmd) only if none of the above methods how to disable Adobe genuine software integrity service Windows worked for you:

1. Type “cmd” in the Windows search box, pick the “Run as administrator” option. Or right-click on the result and pick “Run as administrator” (depending on the OS version).
2. Then, in the Command Prompt workspace (you will recognize it by the black background with white text), immediately type “sc delete AGSService” and press Enter.
3. Manually erase the “AdobeGCClient” folder. To do it, go to C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesAdobeAdobeGCClient or view its location in the way described in method №2 (prior to erasing the service via the command line).

If all of the above-mentioned methods don’t work, try using the same method and, via Command Prompt, disable Adobe updater startup utility with the command “sc delete AAMUpdater”. Then manually erase its folder from C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesAdobeOOBEPDAppUWA.

Way №4 – Remove Adobe Genuine Software Integrity Service on MAC

For Mac users

I assume that you are familiar with using MAC.

1. Open the Finder app by clicking the icon that will appear in the lower menu of the main screen.
2. In the top navigation bar, you will see the “Go” option. Pick it and click the “Go to Folder” option.
3. Pick Application Support>Adobe>AdobeGCCClient from the folders that appear.
4. Delete the “AdobeGCCClient” folder and erase it from the trash.
